Jewellery

September, 2017/Plovdiv, Bulgaria/Nis, Serbia - The Balkan Small Business Association takes active part in the preparation of two big international events which are taking place in September in Plovdiv and Nis, respectively. The first international craft event will take place in Plovdiv between 07 and 10 September 2017 and it is going to be a jewellery festival under the motto „The Silver Necklace of the Balkans“. Major organizer of the event is Plovdiv Regional Chamber of Crafts and it is expected that the festival will attract to Plovdiv jewellers from Bulgaria and the Balkan region and the best silver master jewellers are going to design and make together a joint silver necklace with motives from the various regions.

The second international event that the BSBA supports in September is Expo Nis Exhibition which is taking place between 21 and 23 September in Nis. This is the second edition of the exhibition and this years organizers are Nis municipality along with the Association of entrepreneurs and craftsmen of Nis.

Both Plovdiv Regional Chamber of Crafts and the Association of entrepreneurs and craftsmen of Nis are long-term partners and members of the BSBA and the upcoming activities are a step forward toward a strong and successful cooperation. The BSBA is trying to secure the international participation in the two forums and to give the chance to both art and industry in the region to show up and open up new collaboration opportunities. It is important for all entrepreneurs in South East Europe to be able to show themselves, to win new customers and partners and to gain experience. Raising the competitiveness of the economy in the region is a first concern for both the BSBA and its partners in the separate countries from the region.

The Jewelery Festival in Plovdiv is a unique event of this kind, and will bring together a number of Balkan countries who will show their art to the citizens and guests of the city of Plovdiv. Different techniques and materials for jewelry making are going to be presented and exhibited outdoors on the main street of Plovdiv. The visitor will have the chance to see the diversity of the Balkan world in a street full of colors, costumes and music.

On the other hand, the exhibition in Nis, Serbia, offers a more modern view of today's economy by gathering entrepreneurs from different sectors, who will be exhibiting their goods in Nis for the first time after a 30-year break. Accompanying event of the fair is also the Parade of Retro Cars from Serbia and Bulgaria, which is being organized by the two retro car clubs in Sofia and Nis. The programme of the fair includes also an international workshop for entrepreneurs on the topic “Digitalization of the economy and the market". At the same time, the pilot project for the introduction of dual elements in the vocational education and training in Nis will be launched.
